PV Sindhu 2019 Best Performance – PV Sindhu is a world-class Badminton athlete and everybody knows that. But, her journey to win a gold has not been easy at all and that too, with many twists and turns in this year itself. Eight months into 2019 and the World number 3 was still without a gold medal till last week. Sindhu had two semi-final finishes earlier this year at the India Open in March and the Singapore Open in April. Later, she reached the runners up in the Indonesia Open after Akane Yamaguchi.

This win for PV Sindhu is special not just for her but for the entire nation as she is the first shuttler from India to have ever won a gold at the BWF Championship. She crushed Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in just 38 minutes, in a one-sided final on Sunday. Now, she has completed a set of BWF Accolades, winning two bronze, two silver and now finally a gold.

After winning the medal, Sindhu told the media that she is proud to be an Indian and this win was a long time coming after her 2 successive final defeats. She also thanked the crowd for supporting her in various stadiums all over the world. It was her mother’s birthday on the day of the final so, she took the time to wish her mother Happy Birthday during the post-match conference.

PV Sindhu 2019 Best Performance  – The last time Sindhu and Okuhara faced each other was in a 2 hour long battle which involved a 72 shot rally. On that day, Okuhara got past Sindhu barely, but this time, Sindhu was well prepared and dominated the game from the start to the finish. Indian celebrities from various professions and walks of life took to Twitter to express their happiness and to congratulate our champion. Aishwarya Rai posted a picture with her while wishing her further success in the future.

By her high Standards, 2019 was not a great year for the shuttler as her year’s win-loss record of 30-17 from 18 tournaments has been one of the worst seasons by her and the performances kept going down after the World Championship. PV Sindhu completed her 2019 season with a win over He Bingjiao at the BWF World Tour Finals in Guangzhou on Friday, ending a four-match losing run against the left-handed Chinese shuttler.
