R Vaishali – The Chess Champion : Indian Girls are shining bright in Chess

Indian girls are breaking records in many more sports other than Badminton and Tennis. Shining bright, India’s R Vaishali won women’s title in Asian Continental Blitz Chess Championship in Chengdu, China, on 21st May 2017.

The nine-round event saw the best of her with winning seven games and posting two draws. To clinch the gold medal, Vaishali drew her final round game against Uurtsaikh Uuriintuya of Mongolia.

Congratulating on her win, among many others, was Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi.

Born in 2001, the player from Chennai has won Girls’ World Youth Chess Championship for Under-14s and Under-12s. She has been a Woman International Master (WIM) since 2016.

Inspiring many young girls to pursue their dreams and shine.
