  • The quickest Indian to make 13,000 runs in test cricket, Dravid is also the only batsman till date to have hit a century against each of the test playing nations. Dravid is one of the three Indian batsmen to have registered a hundred in both innings of a Test match, achieving this feat twice, against New Zealand at Hamilton in 1999 (190, 103n.o.) and against Pakistan in 2005 (110, 135).
  • Dravid is the only Indian cricketer to score a hundred in 4 consecutive innings achieving the stellar feat in 2002 with scores of 115, 148, and 217 (all against England) at Nottingham, Leeds and The Oval respectively and a century against West Indies in Mumbai.

  • His 11 Man of the match awards in test matches saw 8 of those result in victories for the country with 5 coming in overseas conditions. No Indian cricketer till date has won more Man of the match awards in overseas test matches or overseas test match victories than him. He has also won 4 Man of the series awards in the longest format of the game, all in the foreign soil.
  • Dravid has the 2nd highest aggregate in the 2nd innings of Test cricket, a massive 4,984 runs from 89 innings at an avg. of 60.78 with 15 hundreds and 24 fifties and the highest score of 270 which is the third highest score by an Indian in test cricket, eclipsed by Virender Sehwag whose two memorable triple centuries still continue to live on in the hearts of Indian cricket supporters.

  • Rahul was involved in 32,039 partnership runs in total, which is the most by any cricketer. With 88 100-run partnerships and 126 50-run partnerships, Dravid has the most number of centuries and half-centuries stand in the game.
  • Rahul was equally impressive in the 50 over format of the game, becoming the highest run-getter in the 1999 ODI World Cup where he amassed a magnificent 461 runs.
  • Dravid holds the record in one-day internationals of not being dismissed for 0 in the most number of consecutive innings. In test cricket, among the batsmen to have scored 10,000 runs, Dravid has the least number of innings where he was dismissed without opening his account at 8.
  • Under his captaincy, India held the world record for the most number of consecutive ODI wins at 17. The side also became the first Indian team to defeat South Africa in South Africa back in 2006.
  • He scored a total of 13,288 runs in 164 matches in test cricket at an impressive average of 52.31. Dravid has scored 7,690 runs at an average of 53.03 away from home which is actually better than his 51.35 average in India.
