Andrew McDonald to be the Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2020
Rajasthan Royals New Head Coach 2020 IPL – The double R, Rajasthan Royals has roped in a new head coach from the Aussies. Andrew McDonald has been appointed as the head coach of the RR team for the upcoming 13th season of the Indian Premier League.
The new head coach, Andrew McDonald will be on a three-year contract. Andrew also featured the IPL as a player when he played for the double D, Delhi Daredevils in the year 2009 and 2011. He then shifted to the RCB camp- Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he played for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Andrew then coached the RCB side and was also the bowling coach of Virat Kohli’s side.
Andrew McDonald will be replacing Paddy Upton, who coached the Rajasthan Royal franchise in the previous seasons of the IPL.
Rajasthan Royals New Head Coach 2020 IPL
Along with coaching and playing experience in the IPL, Andrew McDonald will bring some experience of coaching an outside franchise too. He has coaching experience with the Melbourne Renegades that won the Big Bash title this year. In the last season, Melbourne Renegades finished seventh in the points tables.

Rajasthan Royals who won the IPL title in the inaugural season had struggled to make a mark in the seasons afterward.

Rajasthan Royals New Head Coach 2020 IPL – Zubin Bharucha who was also in the panel to have picked the head coach said that the Rajasthan Royals has selected Andrew McDonald as their new head coach because he has the experience of coaching in previous IPL seasons and some other leagues as well. His innovative and forward-thinking will help the team in the long term. Andrew is a focused man and is also well versed in the coaching of Modern-day cricketers.
