Restrictions at metro stations on Republic Day

 

Due to the security arrangements on the Republic Day in National Capital, Delhi Metro services will be restricted at some metro stations. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said the measures have been taken as per the instructions of Delhi Police.

 

At some Metro stations there are restricted entry and exits, such as, on the yellow line, Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations will remain closed from 6 am to12pm, while Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg will remain closed from 8.45am to 12 pm. The Central Secretariat station will only be used for interchange Jehangirpuri-HUDA City Centre (Line 2) and Central Secretariat-Badarpur (Line 6).

 

Similarly, Blue line metro services at Mandi House and PragatiMaidan stations will be stopped when the parade will pass under the Tilak Bridge. Violet Line metro stations will remain available except the closing of entry and exit from certain gates of ITO, Delhi Gate, Lal Qila and Jama Masjid stations.

 

During this period, trains will be run in three different loops on the corridor — Noida City Centre to Indraprastha, Vaishali to Yamuna Bank and Dwarka Sector 21 to Barakhamba road.However, the actual time of stoppage of train movement will be on the directions from the Delhi Police control room.

 

Some restriction will also be there on 29th January, for the Beating Retreat parade. The metro  services at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations will be closed from 2 pm to 6.30pm. However, interchange of passengers from HUDA City Centre (Line 2) and Central Secretariat-Badarpur (Line 6), and vice-versa will be allowed.
