Rishi Kapoor movies – Rishi Kapoor, born on 4 September 1952 was a veteran Indian actor, producer, and director. He has received numerous awards for his commendable work in the industry and before his next project of the remake of the Hollywood movie, ‘The Intern’, Rishi Kapoor passed away on 30 April 2020. After a two-year long battle against cancer, Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away at the age of 67 in Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.

Shree 420, Mera Naam Joker, and Bobby
His first ever role was for Raj Kapoor’s, Shree 420 in which he appeared in the song ‘Pyaar Hua, Iqraar Hua’. He was only 3 years old at the time and then next appeared in ‘Mera Naam Joker’ in 1970. This movie was claimed as his debut for which he received the National Film Award as a child artist. Rishi Kapoor then played his first lead role opposite Dimple Kapadia in 1973 with the teen romance, ‘Bobby’. Kapoor won the Filmfare Best Actor Award for the film in 1974.
In 2012, Rishi Kapoor revealed that ‘Bobby’ was not made to launch him as an actor but to pay back debts of ‘Mera Naam Joker’ and because his dad did not have any money to cast Rajesh Khanna at the time.

His 11 solo hit films included Bobby, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar, Sargam, Karz, Prem Rog, Nagina, Honeymoon, Chandni, Heena and Bol Radha Bol, and Yeh Vaada Raha.

Rishi Kapoor Movies 2000 onwards
In the era of the 2000s, Rishi Kapoor shifted to playing supporting roles. He has since appeared in films like Yeh Hai Jalwa, Hum Tum, Fanaa, Namastey London, Love Aaj Kal, and Patiala House. Rishi Kapoor also appeared in the British films, Don’t Stop Dreaming and Sambar Salsa. In his career, Rishi Kapoor paired 12 times with his wife onscreen.
In 2008, he was honoured with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. He won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor in 2011 for his performance in Do Dooni Chaar and then, in 2017, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Kapoor & Sons.
