Sack of Currency Notes Burned in Bareilly

Just a day after Indian Government made an announcement to Discontinue Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes, sack full of notes were found burnt in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.

The sack full of notes were reportedly burnt and dumped by workers of a company on Parsa Kheda at CB Ganj in Bareilly.
Police officials said the notes appeared to have been cut, damaged and then burnt.
The remains of the currency notes were collected and taken over and the Reserve Bank of India Officials were informed about the incident.

The senior superintendent of Bareilly, Joginder Singh said, “We are examining the burnt notes to check for their authenticity”.
