He was born on 16 September 1994 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh in India. Since childhood, he has had a keen interest in performing arts and participated in various extra-curriculum activities in his school. He attended the Amrita School of Engineering in Bengaluru in 2012-13 but probably didn’t complete the course. And later, he joined Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam, and graduated in the field of Business Administration.

Shanmukh started his own YouTube channel on July 02, 2012, and uploaded “Cadbury Ladu Ad by Shanmukh” as his first video, which was later followed by a few short films, comedy clippings, and dance videos in the initial days. He pursued his career by acting in the video of The Viva by Sabarish Kandregula, released in 2013, as Shannu and gained fame from the character.

His major blockbuster was the famous youtube series, The Software DevLOVEper, which was directed by K. Subbu. He was appreciated in the Sakshi Post on September 16, 2021, as the first Telugu YouTuber to have four million subscribers.

In 2017, a lawyer filed a petition against “Sita, I Am Not A Virgin”, a short film that featured Shanmukh Jaswanth and his girlfriend Deepthi Sunaina. The director of the film was accused of hurting the sentiments of the Hindu people. As per the Hindu scriptures, ‘Sita’ is the central figure of Ramayana, the wife of Lord Rama, and is preached as a goddess. The title” I am not a Virgin” triggered anger amongst the Hindus. Later on, to dismiss the charges, the title was changed to “Seetha I’m Not A Virgin (2017)”.
