The correct way of shivaling puja

Shiva devotees offer Jal (water) and Milk on the Shivalingam. Various other items are also offered on Shivalingam during Abhishek, like Panchamrit, Sugarcane Juice, Pure Ghee, Mustard Oil, etc. Most of the devotees though offer Jal and Milk. Although the most important part of worshipping God is having a pure heart and faith in God, as per Hindu scriptures water should be offered in the following manner. If you also offer milk, the correct way is to first offer jal as above, then offer Milk in the same manner and repeat the Jal offering again in the same way.
