Shrikant Jichkar was the most qualified person in India. He was born to a wealthy farmer (Kumbi family) near Katol, Nagpur, India on 14th September 1954. He took Master’s Degree in more than ten subjects. He holds Limca Book of Records for the most qualified person in India.
Shrikant Jichkar stared his career as Doctor (MBBS and MD). Later he did Law (LL.B.) with Post-graduation in International Law (LL.M.), DBM & MBA, B.journ, D. Litt (Doctor of Literature) in Sanskrit. The best part is that he cleared maximum exams in First class and obtained several Gold Medals for his degrees.
In 1978 , Shrikant Jichkar appeared in Indian Civil Service examination and got selected for IPS (Indian Police Services) but resigned almost immediately. He then appeared for Civil Services examinations and joined as an IAS officer in 1980. But even being an IAS officer couldn’t hold him back for long and he resigned just after four months of joining to pursue a career in politics. He had a passion for writing exams and appeared in University exams every Summer and Winters between the period 1973 to 1990.
Jichkar was known as being an academician, painter, professional photographer and a stage actor.
At a young age of 25 , Dr. Shrikant Jichkar joined Indian National Congress in 1980 and became the youngest MLA in India. He became the most powerful minister in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly by holding 14 portfolios during the period 1982-85. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha between 1992-98.
He died at a very young age of 49 in a road accident on June 2, 2004. His car was rammed by a truck which killed him instantly.
He was a gem of a person and it’s not everyday that such talents are born. An inspiration for Young India, we are proud of you Dr.Shrikant Jichkar.
