Sonam Kapoor provoked Abhay Deol on Esha Deol’s Fairness Cream Ad. Deleted posts after being trolled
A series of posts from Actor Abhay Doel on the celebrities starring in fairness cream ads got a provoking response from Sonam Kapoor, her co-star in movie ‘Aisha’.The reason behind this could be that Abhay had quoted about Sonam’s L’Oreal’s fairness product ad. Sonam tweeted “@AbhayDeol I appreciate and concur with your views and would like to know your thoughts on this as well!” Attached to the tweet was a picture of Esha Deol’s fairness product Ad. Abhay’s response was “Is wrong too”.
Sonam tweeted another one which said “Thank you Abhay, I shot this campaign ten years ago and didn’t understand the ramifications.
Thank you for bringing this to the forefront.” Abhay aptly replied to the tweet with “More power to you.”
Sonam’s tweets and comments were not liked by many twittereti and she was criticised for her tweets and dragging in the family.
Abhay Deol had made a series of posts on his Facebook slamming fairness creams ad and also attached pictures of some of those ads with celebrities endorsing the products. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and John Abraham were some of them.
One of his posts read “WE ARE NOT A RACIST COUNTRY! I will prove it to you” Commenting on the post in which he attached a picture of
John Abraham, he wrote “Hey! You can see the promise of darker skin too if you read the card from left to right! He’s not telling you to
go from right to left! Duh!
Even if the writing on the tube reads “Intensive FAIRNESS moisturiser”.
It just means its ‘FAIR’ to all who use it.”
In another post with a picture of Actress Nandita Das, he wrote “Silly Nandita trying to teach us that Black is also beautiful. Doesn’t
she know that we already know that? Why else would we be so accepting of people from the south*?
What’s that? She’s from Orissa? Can we include that in the southern belt of states?
Cause I really want to believe in my bullshit.
*in reference to a comment made by a politician on TV”.
It’s good to see celebrities raising their voice for social causes.
