  • Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh informed that 30 players have been selected for Tokyo Olympics and an amount of Rs.5 lakh has been provided to each of these players as a preparation amount. Cash amount of Rs.6 crore will be given for gold medal winners, Rs.4 crore for silver medal winners & Rs.2.50 crore for bronze medal winners. Also, the players securing medals in international sports events will be given government jobs to encourage them and incentivise budding players.

  • Euro 2020: After UEFA reportedly decided not to allow Allianz Arena to be lit in rainbow colours during Germany’s match against Hungary, the city mayor is said to be planning to put up rainbow-coloured flags and illuminate various places in the city in rainbow colours.
