Sri Lanka will look to end their tournament with a win, they were thrashed by New Zealand in that opening game. The Kiwis won that game by 10 wickets. Now, Sri Lanka will look to do what they did to West Indies. They batted really well in that contest. Their top 3 scored runs and hence the Lankan Tigers posted 338 runs in that match. Aviska Fernando scored a sublime hundred and Kusal Perera too was good with his 64 runs. Then it was Lahiru Thiramane who helped Sri Lanka to finish on a high. He was unbeaten on 45 runs which he scored from just 33 balls.
Sri Lanka will want a similar effort from these three again. But the form of Dimuth Karunaratne is still a concern for Sri Lanka. Apart from his 97 against Australia. The Skipper hasn’t batted well for the Lankans. If Sri Lanka wants to end their last league match with a win then Karunaratne should score runs. Angelo Mathews who played so well in that win against England failed against West Indies and South Africa. He is the one role model which the young Sri Lankan players look up to. Angelo should lead them with an example. In his last world cup inning, Mathews should step up.

Lasith Malinga too will play his last world cup innings on Saturday. He has done a good job till now. His match-winning spell against England gave Sri Lanka a chance to qualify for the semis. But the loss to South Africa made them sit out of the tournament. Malinga and Mathews will want to give a good performance in their last match of the world cup. Sri Lanka’s new hero Avishka Fernando will look to continue his good form and Isuru Udana too will look to make an impact against the heavyweights of ODI cricket. But the batsmen need to worry about Bumrah, Shami, and Bhuvi. These 3 are quality seam bowlers from the Indian team and it would be difficult for Sri Lanka’s batsmen to go after them. Then there is Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal who bowl well in the middle overs. And there might be a possibility that India will play Kuldeep Yadav. The china man has a good record against Sri Lanka. So, the Lankan batsmen will face a lot of threats in their last match.

The team will be looking for some chop and change ahead of their first semi-final clash. The openers played a crucial knock and gave a perfect start to the innings. But the middle order is still a problem for India. This is the only weakness which may trouble India in the semi-final matches. Virat Kohli’s brilliant run has been stopped by Bangladesh. He scored 5 half centuries back to back but now it has been halted. Kohli will look to score a big one against Sri Lanka. That will bring his confidence back. MS Dhoni’s struggle to time the ball continues. He did that against England and repeated that similar issue against Bangladesh. MSD needs more time in the middle order as he will be India’s key man for the semi-finals and possibly final too.

Sri Lanka vs India Match Preview Hardik Pandya was out for a golden duck in the last game. He will want to score heavily against Sri Lanka and make up for that. Pandya’s power hitting will decide the innings fate. Bhuvi, Bumrah, and Shami are the three pillar for India in the bowling department. Their fitness will be the key for India ahead of the semi-final matches. Bumrah has played all the games till now. So, he can be rested for this dead rubber match. Ravindra Jadeja or Mayank Agarwal might be a good replacement for Bumrah.

Hit Man is also 129 runs away to break the record of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Rohit needs 129 runs to score the highest number runs in a single edition of the world cup. Till now Rohit has scored 544 runs in 8 matches of the world cup 2019.
India and Sri Lanka have faced each other 8 times in the ICC World Cup events. But Sri Lanka has a better record. They have won 4 and India has won 3 with one match was ended in no result.
