Sundar Pichai Alphabet CEO – Google chief executive Sundar Pichai will be the CEO of parent Alphabet Inc. Alphabet Inc. is an American multinational which was established through a corporate restructuring of Google on 2 October 2015 and became the parent company of Google.
Pichai will take over from Larry Page. Google was founded by Page and Sergey Brin 21 years ago. Page and Brin, both aged 46, announced their departure from Alphabet. Although the founders are willing to hand over the management charge to Sundar Pichai, they still hold 51% of voting rights on the board of Alphabet. So, this means the ultimate power lies with Page and Brin only.

Page and Brin said, “We’ve never been ones to hold on to management roles when we think there’s a better way to run the company. And Alphabet and Google no longer need two CEOs and a President. While it has been a tremendous privilege to be deeply involved in the day-to-day management of the company for so long, we believe it’s time to assume the role of proud parents — offering advice and love, but not daily nagging”.

Pichai thanked founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin for their confidence in his abilities to take charge of Alphabet Inc.
Pichai was appointed as the CEO of Google in 2015, and now he will take responsibility for both the companies.
