Surajkund International Crafts Mela History – Surjakund International Crafts Mela is popular worldwide for its artisanal and cultural aesthetics. The Surajkund Mela was first organized in 1987 conceptualized by Haryana Tourism to promote traditional and local artists. The fair has been successful and in 2013, it was upgraded to an international fair. Every year, an Indian state and a foreign partner are given the theme for the fair. Over 20 countries participate in this fair.
The fair is a platform for traditional artists from local and remote areas to showcase their talent and culture. The fair concentrates on promoting our cultural heritage and promoting the craftsmanship of the artists. Every year the fair attracts visitors worldwide.

History of Surajkund
Surajkund is located around 8 km from South Delhi. It is a historic site with the backdrop of Aravalli hills, the sun pool, and the remains of the sun temple. The sun pool was built in the 10th century A.D. by Raja SurajPal. With an amphitheatre constructed on the banks of the artificial reservoir, the location is perfect for the fair. The site is full of the history and culture of our country.

The 35th Surajkund International Crafts Mela was supposed to be organized from 4th February, 2022 to 20th February, 2022. However, due to the surge in COVID cases, it has now been postponed and no new dates have been announced yet.
