1955 – R Banumathi is a Judge of the Supreme Court of India. She is from Tamil Nadu and is the sixth woman to be a Judge of the Indian Supreme Court. She has also served as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand HC and as a Judge at Madras HC.

1960 – Sudesh Berry is a television & film actor who made his debut in 1988 with Khatron Ke Khiladi. He also appeared in Doordarshan’s Mahabharat.

1968 – S Justin Selvaraj, also popularly known as S J Surya, is a film director, screenwriter, actor, music composer, and producer. He has worked in the Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi film industries.

1969 – Kalikho Pul was a politician and acting CM of the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh for a brief time in 2016. He was elected 5 times from the Hayuliang Vidhan Sabha constituency representing the INC.

1965 – Batukeshwar Dutt was an Indian revolutionary and independence fighter in the early 1900s. He, along with Bhagat Singh, is most popularly known for exploding a few bombs, in the Central Legislative Assembly in New Delhi on 8 April 1929.

1972 – Geeta Dutt was a playback singer and a famous Hindi and Bengali classical artist.

1982 – Madeleine Slade, also known as Meera Ben, was a British citizen who left her home in Britain to live and work with Gandhi Ji.

1996 – Justice Anna Chandy, also known as Anna Chandi, was the first female judge and then High Court judge in India.

2010 – Amit Jethwa was an Indian environmentalist and social worker. He was active in the Gir Forest area near Junagadh, Gujarat and had filed several court cases against illegal mining in the protected area, naming, Dinu Solanki as one of the respondents. On 20 July 2010 he was shot dead by two assailants on a motorbike.
