  • The 15th edition of the Joint Military exercises hosted between India and USA, Yudh Abhyas 2019 began at the Joint Base Lewis McChord near Washington DC yesterday.
  • ISRO’s Chandrayaan 2 landing on the lunar surface by Vikram lander is scheduled between 1:30 am to 2:30 am on 7th September 2019. The Rover will be rolling out between 5:30 am to 6:30 am the same day.

  • Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal in a recent interview mentioned that Delhi’s pollution has reduced by 25%. He also mentioned that from 2012-2014, the Particulate Matter, aka, PM 2.5 was 144 is now 115 from 2016-2018 which explains 25% reduction in the pollution.
  • The Supreme Court dismissed a PIL filed by Dr.AM Krishna who seeked for increase in retirement age of all state High Court Judges from 62 years to 65 years.
  • The heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand has resulted in yet another landslide which in turn resulted in creating a roadblock in the Kumaratoli area of the Chamoli district.
  • The District administration of Rohtak, Haryana has brought nearly 4000 eathern pots to store drinking water and reduce use of plastic containers.
  • A Bairagi family from Raipur, Chhattisgarh distributed free eco-friendly, home-made, re-usable bags to make their city single-use plastic free.
  • Prime Minister, Narendra Modi recently raised an issue to extradict Zakir Naik who is curently facing charges for terrorism and money laundering with his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohamad.

  • The Centre gave a detailed account of normalcy returning to the Kashmir Valley. They informed te court that 80% of landline telephones were operational in the valley.
  • India and Japan will soon be holding their first 2+2 meeting. This meeting would include high-level discussions between foreign and defence ministers on various strategic and defence issues.
  • The Restaurants and hotels will soon have to be displaying hygiene ratings on their doors. This is mandatory as set by the food regulator. They will also have to keep a food supervisor in charge for monitoring compliance of food regulations and will ensure safety of food served.
  • India has given $1 billion line of credit to Russia Far East. This happened after PM Narendra Modi vowed to support the Russian President, Vladimir Putin for his efforts in developing the extremely harsh region.
