Here are the India Business News Headlines as on 14th July 2017:


  • GVK Power & Infrastructure has exited Bengaluru airport by selling its residual 10 per cent stake to Canadian NRI businessman Prem Watsa’s Fairfax India Holdings Corporation for Rs 1,290 crore. Now Watsa owns 48 per cent in the third busiest airport in the country and GVK.


  • Hindustan Power has acquired 15 solar power projects in Japan with a combined capacity of 150 Mw. The company, which also operates in other international markets aims to touch 2 Gw of global power generation capacity by 2022.


  • Aitya Birla group is ready to sell its fertiliser arm Grasim, which merged Aditya Birla Nuvo’s operations with itself, to exit all low-margin businesses.


  • NCLT has reinstated Vikram Bakshi as MD of Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt. Ltd, an equal joint venture between Bakshi and McDonald’s Corp. After the removal of Vikram Bakshi he had closed down 43 out of 55 McDonald’s outlets in Delhi recently.
