To play test cricket, batsmen need to have a stable mental strength, concentration, stamina, and the determination of playing out the most difficult overs whereas the bowlers have the upper hand to upset the batsmen through the swinging deliveries which they generate through the moisture of the pitch.

The batsmen need to stay cool and clam to play out the crucial overs as the team demands from him/her. Test cricket is not a fast-paced game like T20s or ODIs. But in the longer version of the game, the batsmen are benefited if he/she spends long hours at the crease.

Spending long hours doesn’t mean just to defend balls. It means that they should score from good deliveries as well as from the bad ones. This puts immense pressure on the opposition bowlers and that is how batsmen are successful in taking the game away from the opposition team.
