Rana Suresh Babu Daggubati is an Indian actor, photographer, producer and visual effect co-ordinator. He was born on 14 December 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in a filmy family. He did his schooling in Hyderabad and Chennai from Hyderabad Public School and Chettinad Vidhyashram.

  • In the year 2016, Rana revealed that he is blind from his right eye, and his left eye is transplanted. The first surgery was done in L.V. Prasad hospital in Hyderabad. When he was just 14, the second surgery was done in his right eye but was unsuccessful.
  • D. Ramanaidu (Rana’s grandfather) was a famous film producer who was awarded the third highest civilian award in India; Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Telugu cinema.
  • Rana could have got roles very easily as he is the son of famous producer, Suresh Rana. He chose to make his own path through hard work and dedication in the film industry.
  • Rana has taken special training in stunts from the US.
  • Rana’s first movie was “Leader” in 2010 which was a blockbuster. Rana made his Bollywood debut on 22nd April 2011 in “Dum Maaro Dum”.

  • In the year 2017, Rana reprised his role as “Bhallaldeva” in ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ which became the first Indian film to cross 1000 crores.
  • For the first part of Baahubali he maintained 110kgs and in the second part of Baahubali, he lost 22 kgs.
  • Rana Daggubati is the brand ambassador of Pro Kabaddi league.
  • Another interesting fact about him is that he is fond of shoes; wherever he goes he ends up buying shoes.
  • He received the National Film Award for Best Regional Movie: The Ghazi Attack (2017).
  • Apart from that, he has many awards and accolades in his kitty.  One of the most honoured awards in the film industry ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award’ for Outstanding Performance (Male) 2018 was given to him for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

Rana established himself as one of the most leading actors in Telugu Cinema. He is one of the finest actors who has taken up a variety of roles in different languages. He might appear aggressive on the screen but he is a soft-hearted person in real life and is loved by everyone.
