What are Chakras?

Chakra are the spiral wheels of energy or light where the physical and mental energy meet. This energy is the vital life force called Prana, which is what keeps us healthy and alive. Chakras are called the concentrated energy centers of the body.

Each chakra corresponds to nerve centers and major organs in the body. There are 7 chakras and each of the 7 main chakras contains our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being.

Major and Minor Chakras

Although we talk about the seven chakras of the body, there are in fact 114 chakras in the body which are more like junctions of Nadis that are present in the form of a triangle in our body. Two out of these 114 chakras are outside our body and the rest 112 inside our body. However, one can work only on 108 chakras. All these chakras are arranged into seven dimensions which are generally referred to as Seven Chakras or kshetras literally meaning an area.

It is said, if a chakra did not function properly, illness is more prone to occur. If we are feeling sad or depressed, then we may not be taking the maximum energy for our needs. If we do not fulfill our body with the proper food and nutrients, then we will receive less energy. If we stop feelings such as anger, we are doing great for our healthy energy flow.
