Wimbledon Day 7- The first big match of the day included Ash Barty who is currently the World’s no. 1 and was on an unbeaten streak of 15 games. She faced Alison Riske of United States who is currently ranked at 55 in the world. The Australian won the first set 6-3 and looked as if she will continue to dominate the game but right from the second set Riske started playing her natural game and started to string together a series of points, this added pressure on Barty which led her to make several unforced errors. Barty ultimately lost the remaining 2 sets 6-2 and 6-3. Credit goes to Alison Riske as she continued to believe in herself and started placing the shots really well. Alison is now set to face seven time champion Serena Williams for a place in the semi finals.
