World Leaders Congratulate PM Modi – BJP’s historic win is not only being celebrated in India, but the congratulatory messages have been coming from the world over. Leaders from all over the world are congratulating PM Narendra Modi.

World Leaders Congratulate PM Modi

President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, congratulated PM Narendra Modi on his win. He tweeted: “Congratulations to Prime Minister @NarendraModi and his BJP party on their BIG election victory! Great things are in store for the US-India partnership with the return of PM Modi at the helm. I look forward to continuing our important work together!”

Shinzō Abe, Japanese PM, also congratulated PM Narendra Modi in a telephonic conversation.

Vladimir Putin, Russia’s President, also shared his happiness with PM Narendra Modi on the convincing victory of the BJP at the general parliamentary elections.

Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated PM Modi on the “electoral victory under his leadership”.

Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka tweeted “Congratulations to #NarendraModi on a magnificent victory! We look forward to working closely with you.”

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, congratulated PM Narendra Modi and tweeted “will continue to strengthen our friendship between India and Israel”.

Ashraf Ghani, Afghanistan President also wishes PM Narendra Modi on this win and tweeted: “Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a strong mandate from the people of India. The government & the people of Afghanistan look forward to expanding cooperation between our two democracies”.

Dr John Magufuli, the President of Tanzania tweeted to wish PM Modi. He tweeted:”On behalf of the Government and the people of Tanzania, I congratulate Y’r Excellency Narendra Modi on y’r re-election as Prime Minister of India.This indicates the confidence that y’r compatriots have in you. Be assured of our commitment to strengthen our bilateral co-operation”

Mohamed Nasheed, of Maldives, congratulated PM Narendra Modi. He tweeted: “Early election results confirm what many of us predicted: Indian Prime Minister @narendramodi has won big in the general election. Heartfelt congratulations to the PM from the Maldives! We very much look forward to continuing our close co-operation with you and your government.”


Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Australia, congratulated PM Narendra Modi. He tweeted: “Congratulations @narendramodi on your historic re-election as Prime Minister of India. Australia and India enjoy a strong, vibrant and strategic partnership, and our India Economic Strategy will take our ties to a new level. I look forward to meeting again soon.”


K P Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal also congratulated PM Narendra Modi over his win.  He wrote: I extend warmest congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for landslide election victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. I wish all success ahead. I look forward to working closely with you. #PMOIndia

Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan, also reportedly called Prime Minister Narendra Modi to congratulate on his win.
