Yesterday IPL Match Highlights
Asking KKR to bat first, DC did not make run scoring easy against them. They put pressure on the KKR batters right from the word go. KKR were struggling at 35/4 at one stage. However, Captain Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana got in together and put on a 50-run partnership between them. Except these two, none of the KKR batsmen were able to score runs against a well sorted DC bowling lineup. Batting at no.6, Nitish brought up his maiden fifty in TATA IPL 2022 and 14th overall in his career. He scored 57 runs from 34 balls with three fours and four sixes. This was an extremely important innings from Nitish personally for him and also with the context of the match. Shreyas Iyer too played a decent innings of 42 runs from 37 balls to put KKR in a decent position. This partnership between Rana and Iyer propelled KKR to a competitive total of 146/9. Rinku Singh provided the finishing touches with a 16 ball 23. Kuldeep Yadav was the star performer with the ball. Playing against his former team, Kuldeep bowled an extremely economical spell of 4/14 which restricted the KKR batsmen. Kuldeep has made a grand comeback in this year’s IPL as he has picked a total of 13 wickets so far. Out of which, 8 are against his former team KKR who had benched him for the majority of the last two seasons. Kuldeep seemed to be in a much better headspace this year and has been bowling with confidence for DC. Along with him, Mustafizur Rahman too bowled really well and finished with figures of 3/18. All in all, it was a great combined bowling performance from the DC bowlers.
Chasing 147 runs, DC lost Prithvi Shaw right in first ball of the innings to KKR’s Umesh Yadav. It was David Warner who took charge of the run chase. He was timing the ball really well and was cruising along with Lalit Yadav. The duo added a 65-run partnership for DC. But KKR came back well when they dismissed Warner for 42 runs from 26 balls which included eight fours. Making things worse for DC, the well Lalit Yadav too was dismissed in the next over on 22 runs by Sunil Narine. Then KKR took further control of the match by dismissing Rishabh Pant cheaply which left DC reeling at 84/5. The match stood in balance at that stage. But thankfully for DC, Rovman Powell and Axar Patel made useful cameos of 33 and 24 respectively to take DC home and hand them a four wicket win over KKR. Powell remained unbeaten on 33 runs from just 16 balls with three massive sixes which sealed the deal for DC. In the bowling, Umesh Yadav yet again stood up for KKR with figures of 3/24.
This marked DC’s fourth win of the season and pushed them to the no.6 spot. On the other hand, KKR slipped to no.8 in the points table of TATA IPL 2022 with five consecutive defeats and just three wins from their nine matches played so far. Kuldeep Yadav was awarded the Man of the Match for his match winning spell of 4/14.

It was yet another thriller of a match as Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatiya took Gujarat to the top of the points table. This also ended Hyderabad’s winning streak of five matches.
Yesterday IPL Match Highlights
Having asked to bat first, SRH’s innings were carried by Aiden Markram and Abhishek Sharma’s half centuries. The duo had a 96-run partnership for the third wicket which had set it up for SRH to pose a big total. Aiden Markram brought up his third fifty in TATA IPL 2022 with 56 runs in 40 balls. He struck the ball brilliantly through the gaps. Markram’s innings included two fours and three sixes. On the other hand, his partner Abhishek Sharma, continued to impress everyone with his excellent stroke play. He made a fluent 65 runs from 42 balls with six fours and three sixes. This was Abhishek’s second fifty in TATA IPL 2022. The partnership between Markram and Abhishek did not allow the GT bowlers to settle in and had set the platform for SRH. Later on, Shashank Singh struck three huge sixes and played a fiery cameo of 25 from just six balls and powered SRH to a total of 195/6. In the bowling, Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/39 for GT as the rest of the bowlers struggled.
Chasing 196 runs, GT got off to an explosive start. Wriddhiman Saha and Shubhman Gill posted a 69-run stand for the opening wicket. This was exactly the start GT needed chasing a big total. Umran Malik provided the first breakthrough for SRH when he dismissed Gill for 22 runs. However, Wriddhiman Saha carried on and brought up his maiden fifty for Gujarat in TATA IPL 2022. Saha stood up to the trust GT had put on him and scored a magnificent 68 runs from 38 balls with eleven fours and a six. This had put GT in a good state but Umran Malik kept on bringing SRH back into the match by picking wickets from one end. He continued to impress everyone and produced an exceptional spell of pace and accuracy. Umran picked up his maiden five in the IPL and picked up some big wickets which put GT in the backseat. The match stood in an interesting situation with 15 runs from 4 balls. Rashid Khan then played a blunder and struck three back-to-back sixes and took GT home by five wickets. His explosive cameo of 41 runs came from just 11 balls. Rahul Tewatia too played an important cameo of 41 runs from 21 balls which helped GT to snatch a thriller of a victory from SRH. Rashid Khan yet again proved why he is such a handy customer with the bat. The dangerous SRH bowling line up was a little out of sorts in this match except for Umran Malik who picked up all of GT’s five wickets.
Umran Malik’s career best figures of 5/25 went in vain as Rashid Khan took GT over the line against his former team. With this win, GT moved to the top of the points table of TATA IPL 2022. This also ended SRH’s five match winning streak.

Riyan Parag‘s powerful fifty took Rajasthan to the top of the points table with a huge 29 run win over Bangalore in match no. 39 of TATA IPL 2022. Bangalore faced two back-to-back defeats and have lost momentum.
Yesterday IPL Match Highlights
Having asked to bat first, RR were in deep trouble. RCB bowlers were right on top from the start and put pressure on the RR batsmen. Captain Sanju Samson looked good but was dismissed on 27 by Hasaranga. RCB thus had a firm grip in the match. RR were restricted to 68/4 at one stage. But thankfully for RR, Riyan Parag stepped up on the occasion and carried the RR innings on his shoulders. The young right-hander brought up his maiden fifty in TATA IPL 2022 and only the second of his career. Riyan scored an unbeaten 56 runs from 31 balls with three fours and four huge sixes to put RR back on track. Riyan’s innings powered RR to a competitive total of 144. This was a great innings under pressure and showed Riyan’s great temperament and composure. At one stage it looked like RCB would bowl out RR for a low score but credit should be given to Riyan’s explosive innings. In the bowling, Josh Hazelwood, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Mohammad Siraj picked up two wickets each for RCB.
In reply, RCB were under pressure as they lost some big wickets at the top. Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell went cheaply as RR bowlers were terrific with their line and lengths. RCB were never able to recover from that and were bowled out for 115 runs. Captain Fad du Plessis was the top scorer with 23 runs from 21 balls. The rest of the RCB batsmen got a start but were never able to capitalize. Rajat Patidar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Wanindu Hasaranga made 16,17, and 18 runs respectively but could not take RCB home as they lost by 29 runs. The RR bowlers once again stood up and successfully defended a total for the fifth time in TATA IPL 2022. Kuldeep Sen was the star with the ball with figures of 4/20. Dhawan looked in complete control and played with an aggressive style. He was well supported by Rajapaksa who made an important 42 runs from 32 balls. Despite Andre Russell’s brilliant all-round performance, Gujarat managed to get past Kolkata by 8 runs in match no.35 of TATA IPL 2022. This emphatic thriller of a win took Gujarat to the top of the points table.
Having asked to bat first, captain Hardik Pandya led from the front. Hardik brought up his third fifty in TATA IPL 2022. It seems that he is really enjoying the new role of captaincy provided to him by GT. He played a matured innings of 67 runs from 49 balls which included four fours and two sixes. Hardik’s innings kept GT in the hunt for a big score. However, the other batsmen were not able to score easily as KKR came back towards the back end of the innings. Even though Wriddhiman Saha and the dangerous David Miller made 25 and 27 useful runs respectively, they were not able to capitalize on the starts that they got. Tim Southee dismissed Hardik and Rashid Khan in the same over which proved to be the starting point for GT’s collapse. At one stage, it seemed that GT would even cross 190 when Hardik Pandya was there at the crease. The KKR bowlers then did tremendous work by restricting GT to a total of 156 runs. Andre Russell had a huge hand to play in this. Russell had not bowled a single over in the match but was called for the 20th over. This proved to be a masterstroke by KKR. He picked up 4 wickets in the 20th over and gave away just five runs. This was a dream spell by Andre Russell. He finished with magical figures of 4/5. Among the other KKR bowlers, Tim Southee picked up three crucial wickets and conceded just 24 runs.
Chasing 156 runs, KKR were not in the chase right from the start. They lost regular wickets at the top in quick successions as the GT bowlers kept the pressure on them. At one stage, KKR were struggling at 34/4. However, Rinku Singh who was playing his first match of TATA IPL 2022 season, snitched a partnership with Andre Russell. Rinku was looking good but was dismissed on 35 runs from 28 balls. Even though Andre Russell ran out of partners from the other end, he took the challenge to the GT bowlers and fought till the very end. With 18 runs required in the last over, Russell hit the first ball for a six which ignited excitement. However, to the joy of GT, Russell was dismissed in the very next ball by Alzari Joseph for a magnificent 48 runs from 25 balls. This sealed the match as KKR fell short by 8 runs in a thriller. Russell’s powerful innings which included one four and six towering sixes, kept KKR in the hunt but was not good enough. The GT bowlers did well and did not allow KKR batters to form partnerships in the middle. In the bowling, Mohammed Shami, Yash Dayal and Rashid Khan picked up two wickets each for GT
With this win, GT moved to the top of the points table in TATA IPL 2022 and are looking like a solid side going forward. However, KKR suffered their fourth consecutive defeat of the season and will have a lot to work upon.

The DC bowlers tried their level best but had no answers to the explosive RR openers. Jos Buttler was the star with the bat. Few overs later, Prithvi Shaw too was dismissed on 37 from 27 balls as RR did not allow the DC batters to get going. However, Rishabh Pant took on the challenge and hit some huge blows to keep DC well within the required run-rate. But thankfully for RR, Rishabh was dismissed on 44 runs from 24 balls by Prasidh Krishna which changed the dimension of the match. MI vs CSK: Chennai beat Mumbai by three wickets on the back of Mukesh’s spell at the start and Dhoni’s vintage finishing touch.
Mumbai Indians suffered their seventh consecutive defeat in TATA IPL 2022 in the hands of arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings. Defending champions Chennai defeated Mumbai by 3 wickets in the last ball of match no.33 of TATA IPL 2022, courtesy of collective team performance.
Having put to bat, MI were in deep trouble early on. They lost both their openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the very first over of the innings when Mukesh Choudhary removed both of them on ducks. This was another poor start by MI. Mukesh bowled brilliantly with the new ball and put pressure on MI. The CSK bowlers bowled with discipline and reduced MI to 23/3 at one stage. Suryakumar Yadav was looking good at the crease but he too was dismissed on 32 runs by Mitchell Santner. But thankfully for MI’s cause, Tilak Varma steadied the ship and brought up his first fifty in TATA IPL 2022 under pressure. He played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 51 runs from 43 balls with three fours and two sixes. Tilak Varma’s innings helped MI to get to a respectable total of 155/7. He got support with useful contributions from Kieron Pollard and Jaydev Unadkat with cameos of 14 and 19 respectively. Hrithik Shokeen who was making his TATA IPL debut, made a run-a-ball 25 runs. This was a good comeback by MI after yet another poor start. In the bowling, Mukesh Choudhary finished with figures of 3/19 for CSK and DJ Bravo scalped two wickets.
In search of their first win in TATA IPL 2022, MI bowlers had CSK’s run chase under check. They picked up wickets at regular intervals. With 48 runs required from 24 balls, the game was in a balance. MS Dhoni and Dwaine Pretorius then provided the finishing touches to the match. Dhoni played a vintage finishing knock and remained unbeaten on 28 runs from 13 balls with three fours and a six. This guided CSK home with three wickets remaining. Dwaine Pretorius too played a quick fire knock 22 runs from 14 balls to seal the deal for CSK, hurting MI’s hopes. MS Dhoni remained cool as a cucumber like always and took the game to the wire and ensured CSK gets home without any further hiccups. Earlier, Ambati Rayudu top scored for CSK with 40 runs from 35 balls and kept the runs coming from one hand. In the bowling, Daniel Sams was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/30 for MI. But this was not enough for MI as they faced their seventh defeat of TATA IPL 2022.

From winning the toss and putting PBKS to bat, DC put on a marvellous effort with the ball. Their bowlers were right on top and were all over the PBKS batting line-up. The PBKS innings never really got going as none of the batters were able to make a match out of it. Captain Mayank Agarwal and Jitesh Sharma made 24 runs from 15 balls and 32 runs from 23 balls respectively. They were the only batsmen who looked comfortable at the crease in their short stay and played promising innings for PBKS. The rest of the batsmen failed to score runs against a well sorted DC bowling who bowled PBKS out for 115. This is the lowest score in TATA IPL 2022 season till now. Warner and Shaw put on 83 runs in just 6.3 overs to ensure a blistering start to DC’s innings. Prithvi Shaw made a quick fire 41 from 20 balls which included seven fours and one six. He smacked the PBKS bowlers all-round the park and took full advantage of the power play. His, partner in crime, David Warner, brought up his third fifty in TATA IPL 2022 and scored an unbeaten 60 runs from 30 balls to guide DC home by 9 wickets. This was their third win in TATA IPL 2022 season. Warner’s sublime unbeaten 60 included ten fours and a six which ensured DC‘s innings to stay in control right throughout. This did not give PBKS any opening to come back into the match. Rahul Chahar picked up the only wicket as the rest of the PBKS bowlers had no answers to Warner-Shaw onslaught.
This was an inspirational performance by DC after a number of covid cases found in the camp. The venue for this match was changed from MCA stadium to the Brabourne stadium owing to rising covid cases in the DC camp. Kiwi international Tim Seifert was tested positive for covid just hours before the match. But this did not hamper their performance and DC brought out their A game against PBKS.

Yesterday IPL Match Highlights – IPL 2022 PBKS vs GT 16th Match Highlights – IPL 2022: Gill’s brilliance and Tewatia’s finish helps Gujarat win last ball thriller
In what proved to be an another exciting game of cricket in the IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans had the better of Punjab Kings by 5 wickets in match no.16 of the TATA IPL 2022. The match saw a last ball six from Rahul Tewatia to seal the deal for Gujarat. Not to forget the brilliant 96 from Shubman Gill which laid the foundation of the chase. This was Gujarat’s consecutive win on the trot in their dubut season of IPL 2022.
Yesterday IPL Match Highlights
Earlier, after being asked to bat first by Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya, Punjab Kings had put up a formidable total of 189 runs from their alloted 20 overs. Thanks to a fiery innings of 64 from Liam Livingstone which came in double quick time is just 27 balls. It included seven fours and four huge sixes. Livingstone’s innings helped Punjab get to the total they did. Gujarat were able to get wickets at regular intervals . However, Livingstone managed to keep the runs flowing from one end. He was backed by Shikhar Dhawan and Jitesh Sharma as they made 35 and 23 respectively which were important runs. Rahul Chahar, too, played a valuable cameo of 22 runs from 14 balls as Punjab finished their innings in 189/9. Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Gujarat. But with the dismissal of Shubman Gill, at the end of the 18th over, Gujarat Titans needed 19 runs from the last over. Yesterday IPL Match Highlights – IPL 2022 DC vs LSG 15th Match Highlights – IPL 2022: Quinton de Kock and Ravi Bishnoi shine for Lucknow against Delhi
In the 16th match of LSG vs DC in IPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants took on the Delhi Capitals at DY Patil Stadium. In a low scoring thriller, Lucknow beat Delhi by 6 wickets to register their third consecutive win in their debut IPL season. Quinton de Kock and Ravi Bishnoi were the star performers for Lucknow. This was Delhi’s second back-to-back defeat.
Yesterday IPL Match Highlights
Winning the toss and fielding first, which has become sort of a trend in the IPL 2022, KL Rahul did the same. He and his boys managed to restrict Delhi to a score of 149-3 after their allotted 20 overs. Delhi got a firing start as Prithvi Shaw smacked the Lucknow bowlers and took maximum advantage of the field restrictions. Delhi had an opening partnership of 67 runs, out of which, the bulk of the runs were scored by Prithvi Shaw. Shaw brought up his 11th half century in the IPL. It seemed that Shaw was batting on a different surface while others were struggling to score runs. However, Lucknow managed to come back into the match in the middle overs. Shaw was eventually dismissed for a quickfire 61 from just 34 balls which included nine fours and two sixes. This proved to be the turning point in the match. Delhi then lost wickets in quick succession due to some tight bowling from the Lucknow bowlers. Young leg spinner, Ravi Bishnoi, produced an amazing spell in the middle overs. He dismissed David Warner and Rovman Powell cheaply as Lucknow fought their way back into the match. The Delhi innings were falling apart when captain Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan brought their innings back on track. The duo had a 75-run partnership between them out of which Pant made 39 and Sarfaraz made a decent 36. Delhi finished their innings on 149-3. Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the bowlers as he finished his spell with figures of 2/22.
Yesterday IPL Match Highlights
Chasing 150, even with an in-form batting line up, was not going to be easy for Lucknow as the pitch was a tricky one to bat on. KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock started well and added a 73-run stand for the first wicket with de Kock being the aggressor. Kuldeep Yadav provided the first breakthrough for Delhi when he dismissed Rahul for 24. But unlike Delhi, the good thing for Lucknow was one set batter played a big inning. Quinton de Kock did the job beautifully for Lucknow as he was his very best in terms of destructive batting. Quinton de Kock brought up his 18th fifty in the IPL. He ended up scoring a brilliant 80 from just 52 balls which included nine fours and two sixes. de Kock took the attack to his fellow South African teammate Anrich Nortje, who was playing his first match in the IPL 2022 for Delhi after being retained by the franchise in the auction. This was Nortje’s first outing in a cricket field since he was injured earlier this year. Nortje conceded 35 runs in just 2.2 overs that he bowled and eventually had to be taken off from bowling after bowling two waist high no balls. He was at the receiving end of some brutal stroke play from Quinton de Kock. But after de Kock’s dismissal, Lucknow still needed 28 runs from 24 balls which was going to be a tricky one on a difficult pitch. Thankfully for Lucknow, Krunal Pandya and young Ayush Badoni kept their nerves and finished the match and took Lucknow over the line. Krunal and Ayush were unbeaten on 19 and 10 respectively with Ayush sealing the match with a six followed by a four. Quinton de Kock was awarded the Man of the Match for his innings of 80 runs. Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets for Delhi. Whereas Shardul Thakur and Lalit Yadav picked 1-1 wickets each.
